I was not aware of the concept of “Surf Fishing.” I assumed fishing is a sport done only by the river. When I saw this man with a fishing pole, I first thought he was experimenting. My curiosity kicked in. And my trigger-happy instincts kicked in as well.

LOL – we have surf fishermen here on Kiawah all the time. it’s fun to watch but I haven’t seen anyone pull in a fish yet!!!

They are tiny. I could see them. He said they come ashore because the ocean is really hot on few days and the fishes come closer to the beach to cool off.

We are OBX’rs ourselves. We stay on Ocracoke. Surf fishing is terrific there, very near the Gulfstream and inlets in/out of the Sound make for plenty of fish close to shore. 😃
